Madam 20mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
CAUTION
Madam 20mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.Babies should be monitored for behavioral side effects such as sleepiness or fussiness.
Madam 20mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Madam 20mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Madam 20mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Limited information is available on the use of Madam 20mg Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease.

Uses of Madam Tablet
Madam 20mg Tablet is used in the treatment of depression, anxiety disorder, phobia, post traumatic stress disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
How to use Madam Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Madam 20mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How Madam Tablet works
Madam 20mg Tablet is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant. It works by increasing the levels of serotonin, a chemical messenger in the brain. This improves mood and physical symptoms in depression and relieves symptoms of panic and obsessive disorders.

Expert advice for Madam Tablet
It can take 2-3 weeks for Madam to start working. Do not stop treatment suddenly as this may cause a stomach upset, flu-like withdrawal symptoms and sleep disturbance. If your doctor asks you to stop Madam, you should reduce the dose slowly over 4 weeks. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Madam, as it may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness. The addiction/dependence potential of Madam is very less. You may develop anxiety during initiation of therapy.
